The Kondex Product Development Center is a segregated area within our state-of-the-art facility dedicated to prototype and initial production parts manufacturing. The cell has been set up with various manufacturing capabilities to facilitate the fast, flexible setups necessary for short-run manufacturing. At the center of these capabilities is a new four-axis Vertical Machining Center (VMC). This critical piece of equipment was outfitted with the latest technologies to allow for fast setups and critical first-piece accuracy. Some of its features include:

In-process inspection capability through part probing
Conversational control
Direct CAD data input
In addition to the VMC, the cell houses several other pieces of equipment for turning and fabrication. Prototype and short-run hardfacing operations are housed in an area adjacent to our production hardfacing installations for safety and material control.
