Family Day a Huge Success!

On May 5th, 2012, more than 800 Kondex associates, family members, and invited guests enjoyed a celebration marking the completion of our 58,000 square foot building addition.  It was a day to reflect on our past while celebrating our future.

Kondex's growth since our new facility opened in 2007 has resulted in over a doubling of our workforce, so Family Day provided a great opportunity for family members and friends to see where and how our associates spend their workday.  Those attending got a close-up view of the company's processes, equipment, and displays of our cutting component parts and systems, as well as information about where and how they are used on customer's original equipment.

Throughout the day guests watched videos showcasing our company history, the new building construction, and our "A Sense of Community - I Make America video, " created to support the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's efforts to encourage legislation targeting the rebuilding of our country's infrastructure and support of the farm bill.  Representatives of the "AEM" Milwaukee and Washington, DC offices were on hand to distribute literature and balloons, and sign up supporters of American manufacturing.

Associates and visitors enjoyed plenty of good food while clowns entertained the many children in attendance with balloon creations, face painting, and washable tattoos.  A highlight of the day was a lively performance by the Lomira High School Band that preceded comments made by company officials and U.S. Congressman Tom Petri.  Students, teachers, and administrators from Lomira High School were also present to display the highly creative grills designed and built by their Technical Education students in cooperation with Kondex as part of an initiative to encourage students to explore manufacturing careers following their schooling.

A common theme heard during the day was how much technology is present in the facility, how clean the plant is, and how pleased associates are to work at Kondex.  The large banner on display said it best: "Thank you Kondex associates and families for helping us help our customers feed and fuel the world."
