Kondex Earns AE50 Award for New Disc Mower Knife Design!
Kondex Corporation has been named a winner of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers’ (ASABE) AE50 Award for a second consecutive year. Kondex is being recognized for its new disc mower knife with an improved “Crop SharkTM” cutting edge. Using an innovative product design, the Crop SharkTM improves the wear of the knife by grabbing and holding the crop while it’s being cut. Made possible through a concave shaped cutting edge and an aggressive serration pattern, the Crop SharkTM is the first major advancement to disc mower knives in over 30 years. This new design has been proven to provide a more efficient cut, as well a cleaner cut – which in turn leads to better crop re-growth. The new blades meet ISO 5718 standards, and install the same as traditional blades.
“We are pleased and honored to again receive this prestigious award,” commented President Jim Wessing. “At Kondex, there is no status quo; we’re continuously looking to improve the performance of our products for our customers and end users. This award is a testament to that philosophy, and we’re very proud of the team responsible for making this achievement possible.”
Companies from around the world submit entries to the annual AE50 competition, and up to 50 of the best products are chosen by a panel of international engineering experts. The judges select products that will best advance engineering for the food and agriculture industries. Kondex, and all award winners, will be featured in the January/February 2015 issue of ASABE’s magazine Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.
