Kondex Holds Career Exploration Days for Kewaskum Middle School Students.

Kondex recently welcomed Kewaskum Middle School students and staff to attend two half-day career exploration events at its Lomira, Wisconsin facility. Over 150 8th grade students and instructors toured the Company, and learned about various department operations, including engineering, purchasing, finance, marketing, human resources, information technology, metallurgy, laser technology, robotic welding, CNC, heat treating, packaging, and more.

“When Kewaskum Middle School asked if we’d be willing to host this event, we were thrilled at the chance to show their students the many opportunities available within manufacturing – both in the plant and the office,” said Kondex Human Resources Representative Kelly Peterson. “[During the tours,] the students asked a lot of great questions, and were very interested in learning about each department and our associates’ job activities.”

In addition to the educational focus, Kondex included a few fun stops to the tours. Each group had a chance to spin the Kondex continuous improvement wheel, pose for photos with various props, and enjoy a treat that connected to the Kondex mission of helping to feed and fuel the world. The students also received information packets detailing the education and skill requirements, job duties, and potential career paths of various positions, as well as Kondex benefit information.

“We truly hope that these students left Kondex with a positive impression of manufacturing careers,” Peterson continued. “Our associates take a lot of pride in the work they do and the impact our products make throughout the world.”
