Kondex Welcomes Senator Johnson on Manufacturing Day.
On October 3rd, Kondex Corporation celebrated National Manufacturing Day with a visit from Senator Ron Johnson. Accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Tony Blando, and Regional Director, Camille Solberg, the Senator received a tour of Kondex’s plant and shared a presentation on the state of the nation. This presentation was given to Kondex associates; approximately 100 students from Lomira Middle and High Schools; and representatives from the Lomira School District, Village of Lomira, Dodge County Board, and Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
“We are very grateful to Senator Johnson for taking the time to visit Kondex, and for the many kind words he expressed about our operations,” said Kondex President Jim Wessing. “I was particularly impressed with the way he addressed the Lomira students and prompted them to think about their future career paths and the potential that manufacturing holds. While most students are encouraged to pursue a four-year degree right after high school, the Senator pointed out the need for skilled trade workers and encouraged them to consider a future with manufacturing companies like Kondex where there’s a clean, safe environment and career development is offered.”
In addition to manufacturing career discussions, Senator Johnson shared his outlook and projections on federal spending, the national debt, and social security. Following the public presentation, Kondex’s leadership team and AEM Senior Vice President Charlie O’Brien met with the Senator briefly to review topics impacting the industries each represents. The group examined tax codes for agricultural equipment, export-import bank legislation, as well as federal and state roads and infrastructure.
